2022 was a very challenging year, soon after COVID season, and still facing COVID risks and numbers of deaths and people contamination. Despite all the overwhelming conflicts, The Brazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology was prized with an increase in impact factor to 2.474 on Web of Science from Clarivate and in Qualis database to A3 from CAPES. Both scores are essential for scientific progress as related to journal quality assessment. We published 140 articles in 2022. But something usually unacquainted is the burdensome number of papers reviewed by our editorial board, especially by our reviewers who, with significant commitment and dedication, have contributed to its excellent scientific level. We are talking about almost 1100 articles reviewed by our editorial board. We want to continue with this willingness and motivation. We know that time is highly precious, and you have been committed to achieving unparalleled levels with many personal and family sacrifices. The improvement of journal quality is correlated to the quality of the peer review process and keeping the process of peer review1–5.
Here we provide a simple dedication to you, who is one of the essential pillars for this conquest of our journal by the Brazilian Association of Otorhinolaryngology and Cervical-Facial Surgery—those who committed to reviewing a compelling 251 articles in 2022.
Thank you very much.
